Hometown Habitat: Stories of Bringing Nature Home – A Film

The Friends of the Durand Library is hosting two free screenings of the film Hometown Habitat:  Stories of Bringing Nature Home to the public as an educational program. The first screening will be April 29 at 10 a.m. at the Durand United Methodist Church. The second screening will be at the Durand Library, May 2 at 6:30 p.m. The 90 minute film features the importance of incorporating native plants in our home landscapes to provide food, shelter and nesting material for wildlife. The film highlights "hometown habitat heroes" around the country including a model residential community designed by Applied Ecological Services, a Brodhead natural landscaping company. Steve Apfelbaum founder of AES and featured in the film, will be on-hand for a discussion session with the audience. For more information click here.
